Chocolate Puma is a Dutch DJ/producers duo consisting of René ter Horst (stage name: DJ Zki) and Gaston Steenkist (stage name: DJ Dobre). The duo is also known from the songs ‘Give It Up’ (The Good Men), ‘Movin ‘Thru Your System’ (Jark Prongo) and ‘I Wanna Be U’.
The duo started producing music in the early 90s. In 1992, the duo released the song ‘Give It Up’ under the name ‘The Good Men’ under their own label ‘Fresh Fruit’. The song became a great success, reaching a number 1 position in the US Dance Chart and a number 5 position in the UK Singles Chart.
With a combination of house, techno and breakbeat, the duo brings a lot of diversity into the scene. In 2001, the duo decided to continue their act under the name ‘Chocolate Puma’. Under their new alias, they released their successful single ‘I Wanna Be U’. The song became a worldwide hit and reached a number 6 position in the UK Singles Chart and a performance in the ‘Tops Of The Pops’.
Tracks such as ‘Step Back’ (featuring Kris Kiss), ‘Space Sheep’ (featuring Oliver Heldens), ‘Steam Train’ (featuring Hi-Lo), ‘Scrub The Ground’ (featuring Tommie Sunshine & DJ Funk), ‘Lullaby’ (featuring Firebeatz) and countless remixes have been very well received and have brought the duo a lot of success. They performed at many major events and in many major clubs.
In 2018, the duo released the songs ‘Blackout’, ‘Reality’ and ‘Bump’ (with Carta & Kris Kiss).
